Christmas is a time for generosity, and for sharing the things that bring us together. At Music for Canberra, that generosity helps turn ideas into moments like last weekend’s Tinsel & Tunes concert — full of music, mentorship, and community.

Music for Canberra relies on the support of our many generous donors, and we’ve recently updated our website to make giving easier. MfC is a registered charity, and all donations over $2.00 are tax deductible. Your support helps us continue to deliver high-quality musical experiences through our orchestral and band programs, children’s choirs, and mixed-ability programs, ensuring that music remains accessible to everyone.

Tinsel & Tunes at Snow Concert Hall was a resounding success, with every ensemble performing beautifully and the afternoon buzzing with festive energy.

Highlights included the special thrill of Louise Butler herself performing alongside Louise Butler Strings, Brad’s confident step away to let LBS shine on their own, and the wonderful moments of mentorship as CYO lower strings joined the younger ensembles on stage.

The performance of the new Canberra Youth Concert Band was a joy, delivering familiar and much-loved tunes with style, before the concert culminated in a truly magical tutti Jingle Bells, featuring everyone together in a joyful finale.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the many staff and volunteers whose support behind the scenes made the day run so smoothly.
