Our Canberra Youth Concert Band Open Day was a fantastic success—buzzing with energy, music, and the joyful sound of woodwind, brass, and percussion players coming together under the inspiring direction of Wyana O’Keeffe. It was a glimpse into the vibrant, welcoming community that’s forming around this brand-new ensemble for students in Years 6–12.

The Canberra Children's Choir will join Opera Australia's acclaimed production of La Bohème at the Canberra Theatre Centre from 17–19 July 2025. As part of Opera Australia's national tour, this collaboration offers young local singers the unique opportunity to perform alongside professional artists in Puccini's timeless opera, reimagined with a vibrant 1970s Parisian flair. Don't miss this enchanting blend of community talent and world-class performance.

Come along on Wednesday 18 June for a concert of stunning choral music in the Wesley Lunchtime Concert series. Kompactus, an outstanding Canberra youth choir, will bring to life the colours of the land and the stars above. This concert is Canberra’s only chance to hear this repertoire before the choir leaves for Tasmania to sing in the amazing Festival of Voices, where the choir will be sharing these homegrown harmonies with communities across the island. 

The Canberra Choral Society and the National Capital Orchestra are excited to be joining forces again on Saturday 5 July to present two very special contemporary works,
The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace by much loved British composer Sir Karl Jenkins and Human Waves by living legend of Australian classical music, Elena Kats-Chernin AO.

Join Apeiron and our inter/nationally recognised guests in exploring a mix of gems from the past alongside music from the future that aims to recreate the magic of the Baroque era.

Art of the Score: The Music of John Williams

A guided tour through the career and creative brilliance of John Williams, one of cinema’s most iconic composers.

From Star Wars to Jurassic Park, Harry Potter to E.T, and Indiana Jones to Superman, no composer has shaped the sound of cinema quite like John Williams.

In this special event, Art of the Score podcasters Andrew Pogson, Dan Golding and conductor Jessica Gethin host a guided journey through the Academy Award-winning music of John Williams.

Part movie music concert, part behind-the-scenes tour, this unique experience will demonstrate various aspects of Williams’ iconic compositional style and celebrate some of his most cherished film scores.
