Worlds In Motion

  • Overture Hall, Orana Steiner School Unwin Street Weston, Australian Capital Territory, 2611 Australia (map)

Join Music For Canberra for an exciting showcase of our youth ensembles in Worlds in Motion, a concert celebrating music that travels across places, cultures, stories, and eras.

Featuring the Canberra Youth Orchestra, McCusker Strings, Louise Butler Strings, Canberra Youth Concert Band, Canberra Children's Choir, and special guests Kompactus Youth Choir, the program highlights the diverse musical experiences offered across Music For Canberra's ensemble program.

Audiences can expect a wide-ranging repertoire spanning classical favourites, contemporary works, folk-inspired music, and selections from film and video game soundtracks. From the energy of symphonic and concert band repertoire to the rich traditions of string ensemble music, the concert explores the many ways music can transport us to different worlds and bring people together.

The Canberra Children's Choir will also present a live demonstration of some of the interactive games and activities that form part of their music education program, offering a glimpse into how young singers develop musicianship, confidence, and creativity.

Whether you're a fan of classical music, movie scores, folk traditions, or simply enjoy seeing young musicians thrive, Worlds in Motion offers something for everyone.
